I have to say, this first book in the series pulled me out of a brain fogged induced reading slump. I loved the characters and the atmosphere. I picked it up because at the time I knew there was no way I would finish an Epic or High fantasy so i was hoping a cozy fantasy would work for me. Well, this one WORKED! I fell right in and though it took me longer than normal to finish (inability to focus for any length of time) I kept thinking about reading it and wanted to return to the story. That being said, a quick synopsis (I went in blind with this one except knowing it was cozy): two MCs one is the Mage of Ages and the other a Queensguard. They meet and are drawn to each other and know because of their current life situations, there is no way they can be together. So, they throw caution to the wind and run off together to open a tea and book store (my personal dream). From there the story goes from low stakes to not so low stakes and there are some truly fun twists and turns sprinkled through it. When I was just under 3/4 of the way through, I picked up Book 2 and 3 in the series. My recommendation, if you need to escape life and are looking for a good time in a medium paced story with some really fun characters, give this book a read.
