Thoughts as I Read The Patron by Fish Phillips

This book left me unsure when I first finished it. There are parts that are appalling but not because of writing style but because of the plot. It left me uncomfortable and got under my skin. After thinking on it, I realize this book did exactly what it should have done. So my rating went from 3 stars to 4 stars. The more I reflect on it, which it seems to have taken up permanent residence in my brain, the more I see how well this writer has accomplished a truly horrific tale without the cheeky, stereotypical "horror" approach. More people need to read Fish Phillips and partake in his true writing talent.
